SPIRITUAL CONNECTION WITH GARLIC BREAD.

Apart from me, I think another of God’s best creation is Garlic and Bread, and the fact that He gave man enough brains to combine them together and shove them in to the oven. God the decided to give some people more brains, now these were the clever ones and they decided to add cheese to the combination and name it Cheesy Garlic Bread and then you guys know the math. Add cheese to any equation and the result doesn’t really matter.
Name one person who doesn’t like cheese!
(Note to self – Tell you all about the time when I had goat cheese for the first time)

There was a time when Pizza Hut was the only pizza place in town – (Yes guys I am that old; in actual I am older than this as well – this you guys will get to know with time of course) and I used to eat only garlic bread, transfer all mushrooms, olives and sometimes capsicum to another plate and shortly claim that I am stuffed. This was back when I was not the coolest kid on the block – however please remember that now I am not only cool – I am literally frozen!

So guys presenting the ever trending and always in style – Garlic Bread – oh yes with cheese! And since I like to rise above the rest I added Oregano! Beat that boys!

Ingredients.
1 French loaf.
1 stick of salted butter.
1 medium sized garlic bulb.
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
Oregano (Dried)

Cut the loaf into 2 inch slight diagonals.
Melt the butter, and add chopped garlic to it and whisk it around in the mini blender till all is well mixed.
Reheat and spread it on to the French loaf.
Sprinkle cheese – as much or as less as you desire.
Top it off with Oregano.

Into a pre heated oven for 5 minutes at 110 degrees.

Serve hot and send love!

Much love,

Urooba.

Nuisance of Nachos

(Loaded Nachos)

When I was a kid the one and only snack that I used to enjoy were chips! Of all kinds, makes and brands – flavors too. Except Original, because in my opinion that is not even a flavor. To find out more about this aversion of Original flavor, click here.

I was never a big fan of ice creams (except Jamoca Almond Fudge – I’d kill for it), chocolates, biscuits or cookies of any kind but yessss! Give me chips any day or time of the week. My favorite time pass used to be stuffing my face with chips and my face stuffed in books, and by books I mean hard core fiction, fast paced thrillers – Hit me up with any suggestions that you guys might have from this genre….pretty please…been ages since I read a good one!

Moving on – now that I am grown up and cool – I eat Nachos! Yes another heavenly creation by the Mexicans. Another one that I will be typing up shortly would be Mexican Enchiladas.

They are best served as snacks! I can make tortilla chips myself but since it’s way too hot so to save myself the trouble I got Doritos.

Ingredients

Pack of Doritos.
Handful of sweet corn.
2 jalapenos, finely chopped.
Handful of black olives, finely chopped.
Handful of iceberg lettuce, also finely chopped.
1 tomato, finely chopped.
½ capsicum also finely chopped.
Juice of one lemon.
Except Doritos, mix all the rest of the ingredients over low heat till slightly soft, and put them in the opened pack of Doritos – hold the pack tightly and shake the hell out of it! Like literally!

Take it out on the serving dish, lightly heat ½ cup Ranch (easily available in all leading stores) and pour over the Doritos mixture. Take some cheddar cheese; shred it over the nachos and into a preheated oven for like 3 minutes.

If you are lucky enough to find authentic sour cream, feel free to add a biggg dollop to the center of the dish.
To load it yet more you can add chicken chunks or shredded chicken to the mixture as well.

Next – grab a copy of your favorite novel, or a nice movie, nachos by your side and enjoy your day, trust me it doesn’t get better than this.

Till then,

Best,

Urooba.

NEED TO KNEAD

First attempt at Pull apart Bread

I am a big fan of cooking, baking, tossing and grilling – but kneading is something I detest the most. Like theeee most!
I have however always wanted to try out breads, different kinds of bread – the dough is just like play dough – versatile and can be filled with whatever you like. I wanted to try this particular pull apart bread, it looked pretty cool. A bit too girly for my taste but pretty nonetheless.
I just came across this pretty looking bread, with no ingredients, no instructions – well they were there, lets say that I am not too well versed in Russian, and before someone suggests – No, the page could not be translated. That’s how I spent my weekend, hit and trial of this pull apart bread.

I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out, considering this was my first attempt. I think with a little bit more practice and tweaking it can definitely be perfected.

Here are the ingredients and instructions – In English.

Ingredients and Instructions
In a bowl take 1 tbsp of sugar, 1 tsp of salt, 2 tbsp of yeast and a cup of warm water. Mix all and leave it aside till you see it become frothy.

In an another bowl you need 2 cups of all purpose flour, 2 tbsp of Oil, 1 egg and knead all this with the yeast mixture prepared above.

Knead all nicely, smear a bit of oil once done and leave it covered for a couple of hours – after 2 hours the dough will be twice its original size.

Roll it out nice and thin and cut circles, make sure the area and your hands are well floured so it doesn’t stick to your hands or the surface.

Spread the filling, filling can be whatever you like. Mine was finely chopped sausages, onion, jalapeno, olives – tossed for a minute over low heat mixed with Tikka masala, the boxed one. Top it with cheese. Fold the circle once horizontally and once vertically and arrange in a pre greased glass dish.

Once you have the desired arrangement, take an egg, beat it well and give the dough a nice egg wash. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of Oregano and into a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.

Enjoy hot!

Step by Step pictures next time I try it out – promise!

Let me know how it turns out.

Till then,

Best,

Urooba.

ORIGINAL – IS IT ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA?

Original Pringles with Buffalo Chicken Dip

Okay now when I say “Original”– I say it with extreme level of sarcasm. Now don’t get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with being original – all and everyone should be 100% original and more but c’mon Pringles – I mean they have plenty of ah-mazing flavors, like super cool! So why would anyone buy ‘original’ flavor – I mean it’s not even a flavor, it’s just mehh original.

Well typing like this I feel like talking about first world problems L

Well my dad just got me Pringles Original and the instant I saw the iconic red packaging I was thinking what I shall eat this with.

Well in all honesty I did come across Chocolate covered Pringles and I don’t think I really want to go down that road, well Original ain’t all that bad afterall.

So ladies and gentlemen, here we go, presenting Original Pringles with Chicken Buffalo Dip – try it out I have heard it addicting people!

Catch me some Tuna.

A classic Tuna Sandwich, served with Potato Wedges and Spicy Salsa

Hi there! I have an interesting observation to share.  Every time I pass by the pantry, I noticed the can of Tuna giving me this sad, dejected look. It was something along the lines of Hey! Remember you bought me? Why don’t you cook me? – Every time I kinda ignored it and got something else out of the pantry instead – but today I got it out of the cabinet and decided to use it in the manner that I like the most, you got it right – In a sandwich, with some potatoes on the side and fiery salsa, perfect meal for this kind of dry weather.

This Tuna can would not regret sitting in the cabinet now, would it?

Let me tell you something about Tuna now, it is a saltwater finfish, subgroup of the mackerel family. It is also considered a delicacy in most areas for the way it is prepared to achieve specific flavors or textures but it being canned is totally another story – easy and cheap; a good source of Vitamin D and oh so delicious.
There are plenty of ways to cook Tuna, but I will show you the simple and classic way, so without further delay here you go.

Classic Old Fashioned Tuna Sandwich.
Ingredients

1 can of tuna, drained and mixed with teaspoon of Olive Oil.
1/3 cup of Cheddar cheese.
3 tablespoons of Mayonnaise
1 large onion, finely chopped.
3 tablespoons of spring onion, only the green part.
1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
1 teaspoon of mustard.
2 tablespoon of pickled cucumbers, finely chopped.
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon Mixed herbs.
Cheese slices.
Bread slices, lightly toasted

Lettuce and Tomato slices – optional.

Mix all – and build a sandwich any way you like.

Do remember this sandwich is best served cold, or very slightly heated – otherwise it’s gonna go soggy.

Fry some potatoes and get some good quality salsa and Enjoy!

Let me know how it turns out.

Best,
Urooba.
